The rapid success of the first Five Nights at Freddy's movie hinted at the potential for a follow-up. Still, Blumhouse Productions has remained relatively secretive about any developments, not officially confirming a sequel.
Nevertheless, the film's leading actor, Josh Hutcherson, appears optimistic about the progress. He told Variety, "They're currently ironing out the storyline, eager to kick things off as early as possible. Given the incredible die-hard fanbase, it was an extraordinary experience for me to be involved. I am eager to return to filming. Working with Emma Tammi, our director, was excellent, and I had so much fun exploring that universe.
I am looking forward to what comes next."
The impressive reception of Five Nights at Freddy's isn't lost on others either. Hutcherson revealed that Jennifer Lawrence, his peer from their Hunger Games days, reached out with celebratory words. "When 'Freddy's' was released, Jen sent me a text," he recounted. "She celebrated, pointing out that her movie topped Netflix and mine ruled the box office, to which I responded with affection and excitement."
