During a recent product showcase livestream on Wednesday, Gameloft announced a plethora of upcoming content for their game, Disney Dreamlight Valley.
This information follows last week's announcement that Disney Dreamlight Valley will be moving out of early access on December 5 and will abandon its originally planned free-to-play model.
On exiting early access, the game will release its eighth significant content update, introducing a multiplayer mode that grants up to four friends the ability to visit each other's Valleys. The update will also introduce the new character Jack Skellington, famously known as the Pumpkin King from Tim Burton's cult film The Nightmare Before Christmas.
Simultaneously, the game will launch its debut paid expansion, A Rift in Time, set in a new location named Eternity Isle. The expansion, divided into three biomes - Ancient Landing, the Glittering Dunes, and the Wild Tangle, will span over three acts with its storyline.
The first act, "Welcome to Eternity Isle," will highlight characters Gaston, Rapunzel, and Eve. It will be succeeded by "The Spark of Imagination" in the spring 2024 and "Treasures of Time" in the summer 2024, where gamers will be pitted against Jafar’s villainous plans and tasked to mend a time rift.
Furthermore, upon leaving early access, a variety of editions of Dreamlight Valley would be available for purchase, ranging from $39.99 for the primary game to $69.99 for the Gold Edition, inclusive of its expansion pass. A Rift in Time could also be purchased as a standalone expansion for $29.99.
Gameloft also publicized a content roadmap detailing upcoming significant updates for the game. Some notable additions include the introduction of Mike Wazowski and Sulley with the Monsters, Inc. Realm in early 2024, as well as the entrance of Tiana from The Princess and the Frog next summer.
Indeed, a special Apple Arcade version of the game, optimized for touchscreen devices, will be released on December 5. The Dreamlight Valley Arcade Edition will incorporate the base game and the A Rift in Time expansion but will forgo seasonal Star Paths or The Premium Shop.
In a musical treat for fans, the Disney Dreamlight Valley Original Video Game Soundtrack is now available for streaming on Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon Music Unlimited, and Pandora.
