Pathé’s Hypnosis Experiment Aims to Let Movie Fans Rewatch Classics as If for the First Time

French cinema company Pathé is testing whether it can erase classic film memories and let viewers enjoy them as if new again.

Pathé is teaming up with hypnotist Victor Kraemer to memory reset 30 film fans so they can feel that first-watch thrill once more. The event is titled Pathé Rewind.

Sign-ups for the event are now over, but candidates were picked using film tastes, personal drive, timing, and agreement to join the campaign. Those selected will take part in a private online session with hypnotist Victor Kraemer.

Right before the screening, participants will be placed under hypnosis again by Victor Kraemer, and then the chosen film will play on the big screen. Four films are under review — The Matrix, Here’s a unique rewrite that keeps the meaning and fits naturally in the sentence: **“Se7en, La La Land, and Interstellar — plus one”** If you want, I can also give you **3–5 more variations** with different tones will be selected depending on which is most familiar to the final 30.

What is hidden in the box? Are we trapped inside a simulation? What occurs when you venture very, very far away? Can Ryan Gosling actually sing? Picture not knowing the answers to these questions.

Pathé says there is no promise that any of this will succeed, naturally, but the result should still be interesting to watch. From afar. I would rather not have my memories altered, thanks. Especially after reading the notice below:

  • Pathé accepts no responsibility for the result, the impact, or any further effects of the hypnosis sessions.
  • Through this experiment, Pathé is studying whether hypnosis can help create a different cinema experience.
  • Pathé offers no guarantee that hypnosis will be effective as a method.

The cinema experiment is set for Monday, November 9, at Pathé Buitenhof in The Hague. Perfect excuse for a trip to The Hague to get your memories shuffled?

Look through the IGN list of the top 25 movies ever and tell us which ones Here are a few unique rewrites that keep the same meaning: - **you might hope to see right away** - **you’d probably want to notice first** - **you would like to encounter first** - **you’d want to look at first** If you want, I can also rewrite the **full sentence** so it flows naturally time again. If The Matrix and Interstellar on that list sparked your interest, we also have a roundup of the best sci-fi films ever made.
